Songül Sömnez

The artist Songül Sömnez worked in 2015 as in the Brunnenpassage. There she realized the video installation "Nomadic Spaces".

"Nomadic spaces emerge in the course of emigration, detaching themselves from their original context and reforming themselves according to the new environment and the prevailing social structure here. In her work, the artist Songül Sömnez shows four videos and a fictitious architectural model. The videos deal with the immigration and emigration of certain spaces: the political space, the religious space, the kitchen and the living room. Each of these spaces is introduced and represented by one or more people, focusing on the relationship of these people to the respective spaces and their experiences."
