kültüř gemma! awards a 6-month fellowship at Wien Museum from September 2025 until Februar 2026. The scholarship is endowed with €1,300 per month by kültüř gemma!
The fellow will work on further developing the Global Vienna educational series. The program—including tours, workshops, outreach initiatives and community exhibitions—seeks to highlight Vienna’s diverse history. With an aim of creating a welcoming space for Viennese residents, the program creates connection and a sense of belonging and solidarity for diverse visitors, while also striving to connect across perceived divides such as language and religion.
The program has previously highlighted Islamic heritage in Vienna, with tours and community projects in Arabic and English, as well as a new project on South American communities and histories in the city.
The successful candidate will research and develop new formats with a focus on a specific group or community—how that group is defined is open—studying its history in Vienna and creating programming aimed at highlight that history to a wide public while also working in collaboration with stakeholders from that community in the city.
The call is open to migrant and BIPoC artists and educators with a migration background from all fields of art and culture.
The decision on the fellowship will be made jointly by a jury consisting of representatives of kültüř gemma! and Wien Museum. All applicants will receive feedback by end of June. The interviews will take place beginning of July.
The application deadline is 16 June 2025.
