The play "The Box. Story of a Machine" is a futuristic fantasy about the world of work and the condition of unemployment. The so-called work training courses for the unemployed initially served as a reference for the writing process. But in the course of creation, the story then found its own structure and the language deliberately keeps a distance from models and themes of reality. In the play, work is presented as a fiction machine. The participants of the course behave like actors. It is about simulation, games and training models. Exercises to become different: That is what the concept of the good citizen means. The hypothesis of the piece is that one cannot represent work. You cannot put the search for work on the stage. The experience of the work simulation is stronger than the work itself.
