İpek Hamzaoğlu
In the course of her kültüř gemma! fellowship, Ipek Hamzaoğlu is collaborating with CineCollective. From June 26 to July 17, she realized "Kaleidoscope 2020. fragments" together with CineCollective (Djamila Grandits, Marie-Christine Hartig, Lisa Mai and Doris Posch). In June and July 2020, the project included a 30 m² screen on Karlsplatz in Vienna, daily screenings of curated films, and a daily blog post. For the second part of her grant, Hamzaoğlu will collaborate with CineCollective to organize a two-day event on December 14 and 15 in collaboration with Le Studio. The evenings are developed as a continuation of the "Kaleidoscope Fragments". and center under five themes: ON HOLD [PAUSE], IN TOUCH [PLAY], OVERLOAD [EJECT], INSIGHT [FAST FORWARD], RECALL [REWIND].
İpek Hamzaoğlu (b. 1989 in Istanbul, TR) lives and works in Vienna and Istanbul. Studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and Masters in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. As an artist and filmmaker, her work circulates around the representation of collective melancholy and the potentials of post-apocalyptic future narratives, community knowledge and gossip. From 2018-2020, she was part of the PEEK artistic research project "Dis/Possession. The Pedagogy of Land and Post_Participatory Aestethics." She is also part of numerous queerfeminist projects on archival politics, friendship and collective (knowledge) production. Together with Laura Nitsch, as HEKATE Film Collective, she received the Academy Studio Program 2020/21 grant.
