Claudia Sandoval Romero

In the course of her fellowship for the Salon Souterrain event series at the Art Space Château Rouge, Claudia Sandoval Romero took over and expanded the public relations work there. In addition to traditional PR work, she produced numerous videos of performances and interviews for Salon Souterrain. In the course of the Fellowship, Claudia Sandoval Romero also presented her own artistic works. During the Wienwoche, Claudia Sandoval Romero showed a photo series in Flex that she produced in Brazil and that deals with sex workers there. A video work by Romero was also shown at the event series of the Salon "Growth".

Claudia Sandoval Romero is a journalist and artist from Colombia who currently works and lives in Vienna. Claudia Sandoval Romero works with media such as photography, text and video and combines sociological methods with collective creation in her art production. Her artistic work reflexively engages with institutional critique, feminism and migration. Romero holds a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies from Valle University in Colombia, a Master's degree in New Media Art from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), and a Master and doctorial degree in Critical Studies from the Academy of Fine Arts (Vienna).
