Bárbara Palomino Ruiz
Barbara Palomino's kültüř gemma!-Fellowship involved the conception of a new website for philomena +, taking into account the needs of the project and the handling for a new design. In particular, she wanted to increase the visibility of philomena+'s mission, which is based on promoting dialogue between artists from the MENA region and artists based in Vienna. At the same time, Barbara participated in the creation of specific audiovisual content to promote and disseminate philomena + activities and events on their social media channels and website, and supported the staff*s daily presence in the philomena + space.
Bárbara Palomino Ruiz is a Brazilian-Chilean artist living and working in Vienna. She studied audiovisual arts at Le Fresnoy Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France and visual arts with a focus on textile arts and social sciences and humanities at the University of Chile. Her artwork focuses on mixed and multimedia media creations with an emphasis on textiles and the relationship between old and new technologies. In September 2020, she was invited to participate as an artist in the creation of a collaborative art installation with artist-in-residence Férielle Doulain-Zouari for the philomena + project statement at the Vienna Parallel fair. Together they created an on-site installation entitled “Knotenapologie”.
