Munira Mohamud, a political scientist and artist, is deeply engaged with (anti-)racism, social justice, and feminism. She leads workshops on anti-Black and anti-Muslim racism, intersectionality, and art as a participatory approach. Additionally, she works as a project manager at Dokustelle Österreich and has increasingly focused on working with youth since last year. As a fellow at the MAK, she is currently developing a postcolonial leadership concept in art education.⁠

European museums have greatly benefited from imperialism and the associated structures of colonial exploitation. In her tour, Munira Mohamud illustrates, using selected objects from the MAK’s permanent collections, how colonial structures imposed global connections and continue to shape both the museum and Austrian craftsmanship to this day.
