Asoo Khanmohammadi
Asoo Khanmohammadi, born in Iran in 1980, studied photography in Tehran after her first migration, came to Vienna in 2010, and continues to study photography at the University of Applied Arts. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions in Iran and Europe. In 2008, she realized Absence, a series that revisits the sites of self-immolations of young women in the western Iranian province of Ilam. With her project as part of kültür gemma! Eva vor Stunde Null (Eva before Zero Hour), she is following up on this work. Asoo Khanmohammadi will work on a photographic series portraying women who were murdered in 1980s Vienna as part of the work grant.
